Newbury Fork Truck Centre use only trainers that are RTITB Ltd accredited training providers, who have trained/tested in excess of 6800 operators. We can supply instructors and examiners, who are able to carry out training to the legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work act 1974 (HaSaW act 1974), The approved Code of Practice for fork lift truck training (L117), Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER98) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation (PUWER98).

All of the courses that we provide include theoretical and practical training and trainees are given tests on both. On successful completion of training, trainees/employees are issued with laminated certificates of basic training and an identity card in a plastic wallet, which show that adequate training has been supplied. Written reports are also supplied with the original test papers so that the employer can place these in the trainees personnel file for future reference.

Courses that we can offer:-

>Complete Novice Trainees
This course is designed for the complete novice or trainees with very little experience.
The HSC Code of practice requires that anyone taking up lift truck operating for the first time after 1st April 1989 should undergo a novice course of training.

>Existing operator training and test course
This course is for existing/untrained operators, with at lease 6-months operating experience on the type of truck they are to be trained on. It is not sufficient to carry out just a test on existing operators, they should be given the correct safety training. These courses can also be used as a conversion course, from one type of truck to another (ie reach to counterbalance).

>Certificate Renewal
Although certificates of basic training do not expire,there is a recommendation within L117 and PUWER1998 that an employer supplied refresher training. The normal time scale within the industry at the present time is 3-years.( But this would be down to the employer or their insurance company requirements) This course is designed for operators who have been tested by a registered instructor and issued with a certificate, or where they have moved from one company to another.
